On January 29th, White Oak Primary will host children’s author, Sharon Ellsberry. Ms. Ellsberry of Athens, Texas, has authored five children’s books in the Spaniel Family Books Series. In all of her stories, she weaves the threads of childhood fantasies and the joy of being with animals. She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Her books have been honored at the North Texas Book Festival as a finalist in the Children’s Book Awards, suggested for the master reading list for the Texas Bluebonnet Awards, and awarded the Dove Foundation’s seal twice.
Students may select to purchase from three of her publications. Book orders returned by Thursday, January 28th, will be autographed copies. These order forms have been sent home with your student. However, if you missed seeing them, here is a link for the printable forms.

Did you know that the school serves breakfast every day? Breakfast for elementary students is only $1.50. The breakfast menu can be found in the same place that you find the lunch menu. (FYI: It is linked on the side of this blog. You can also click here to see this month’s menu.)
Students can eat as soon as the doors open at 7:30 and is served until 7:50. If your child rides the bus, they will arrive in plenty of time to eat breakfast before school.
