Lunch Money:

You can view your child’s lunch money balance online.  You can find the link to Lunch Money Now on the side of this blog where it says, “Check your child’s cafeteria balance or make deposits by clicking here.”  You can also go to woisd.net, hover over “Departments” & click on “Food Services.” Not only can you check their balance, but also you can deposit funds into their account and see what purchases they have made. Also, if you view the site on a non-mobile device you can make an account.  Once you’ve made an account you can set up text message and email alerts for when your student’s balance falls below a certain amount. You get to choose the amount at which you receive a notice. The first time you make your account or if you are viewing the site on a mobile device you will need your student’s ID #, the last 4 digits of their Social Security number and their birthdate. You can see your student’s school ID # by logging into Skyward, clicking on the plus sign at the top left hand side of the window, & clicking on  “Student Info.”  Their ID # is listed where it says, “Other ID.” For your convenience, the link to Lunch Money Now is here.

Bus Stop:

When bus drivers are dropping off your students at the end of the day, they will not leave your child unless they see an adult at the residence.  If they do not see an adult at the residence, your child will remain on the bus and be brought back to school.

Attendance Time:

In previous years you may have been aware that attendance was taken at 9:45 a.m.  This year attendance will be taken at 9:30 a.m. For more information about the attendance and tardy policy, please see the Student Handbook that is posted on the side of this blog.  (Please be aware that at the time of this posting, the digital copy of the Student Handbook is incorrect.  It states that attendance time is 9:45.  Also, the Student Handbook that will be in your student’s planner is also incorrect.  Again, attendance time this year will be 9:30 a.m.)

Picking Your Student Up Early:

Throughout the year, there may be times you need to pick your child up early for some reason.  We take the safety of your children very seriously. This includes making sure that students are transported home in the correct manner. For this reason, we ask that if you are picking your student up early, please arrive at the school by 2:00 p.m. to avoid the busyness of our regular dismissal time.

Change in Transportation Method:

When you attended Meet the Teacher, you informed your child’s teacher what your child’s normal plan for going home will be. If there is a time that you need your child to do something differently (ride the bus versus being picked up or vice versa), you will need to either write a note in your child’s planner, email the teacher, or leave a voicemail on your child’s teacher’s classroom phone. (Classroom phones do not ring during the school day.) If we do not receive notice in one of these ways regarding the change, your child will be sent home according to what their normal plan for end of day transportation is.

Dismissal Time:

The Primary dismissal time is 3:00 p.m.  Students are not allowed to stay at school after this dismissal time.

We look forward to working with you all to educate your students this year!  It’s going to be a great year at White Oak Primary!
